Should party balloons be banned ?
Helium is formed by natural radioactive decay over geological ages and trapped in natural gas deposits. Gas used in balloons is lost forever into outer space, and the balloons themselves sometimes harm wildlife. Should our helium be preserved for less frivolous purposes, such as superconducting magnets in medical scanners ?
