Curly hair! help me!?

i have the curliest hair ever. they look like little springs. and when you pull on the curls, they pop up again. and i was trying to find a way to help my curls. and when i straighten my hair, it never gets completly stright, and when it does(which is rare) i go outside and its starts to poof and gets wavy and the ends of my hair start to curl, and it looks like i went to the eighties, and im not from the eighties! sooo help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
