What are you living for?

I'm curious because I need to find something to live for and make me understand how people do life. Why do YOU get out of bed every day, pay taxes, watch your weight and go through the daily routine? We are so insignificant in the scheme of things, there's going to be ten BILLION people on the planet at the end of the century. Human existence is just a tiny sliver of earth's history. Earth is rocketing through a universe that expands indefinitely. How does this not make you feel worthless? Do you have a certain goal you live for? Does your religion keep you sane? I'm genuinely curious: how do you feel anything other than minuscule when looking at a photo of Earth from space, or finding out that a million years is nothing in geological time. How do you feel special when you realize that every person on this planet has the same complexity of thoughts and vast amount of memories as you? And how do you not feel ridiculous for following 'the rules' when our lives are literally over in a flash?
