I believe in evolution and God, what's wrong with that?

Okay, people say you have to believe in creationism to believe in God, and evolution and God can't make sense together, why? This is my belief; evolution and natural selection are completely logical explanations for the existence of all organisms. In fact, most up-to-date scientists will dispute that evolution and natural selection has been proven now to no longer be a theory, but a proven fact. Don't believe me? Read this book, "The Greatest Show On Earth" by Richard Dawkins, it will explain and answer practically every anti-evolution question a creationist has to offer. Now, I was brought up Catholic, taught the Bible stories, and let me tell you one thing- most of it sounds like a load of crap, particularly Genesis. Personally, I don't hate the Bible or think everything in it is wrong, I just think it's largely inaccurate. I mean can you blame the writers? They were doing the best they could with the knowledge they had at the time. If you look at it logically, most of the scriptures were probably old stories and fables that had been exaggerated over time. I mean some of the writings may have hints of truth in them that were hidden as the story became embellished and miss told over time. A great example of this is the great flood. Of course the whole world didn't flood, there is no provable geological evidence, but evidence has been discovered that suggests the Mediterranean could have flooded a few thousand years ago. And to the people of the area at that time, the Mediterranean was the only known world. It's quite feasible that a man, his family, and a few livestock survived this flood on a small boat. And after generations of retelling the event, a few cattle in a small boat became the world's animal species in a huge ark. But I'm getting ahead of myself, what I'm saying is this. I think God created the materials needed for evolution, created the beginning of the universe, and let life go on from there. Maybe he adjusted minute things, or just sat back and watch the course of things over how many trillions of years. What's wrong with this belief, and does anyone else share it?
