Which is NOT a reason that are there so many more craters on the Moon than on Earth and why are they so well?

the moon being less massive and smaller target would cause it to catch less meteors. geological activity on earth causes craters to be eroded away. No atmosphere would be the correct answer because when a grain of sand hits the atmosphere at mach 25 it becomes a shooting star, boiled into a plasma. when a rock hits the moon at that speed all the impact happens at the surface of the ground.
